The Smackdown video plays, and we're brought into the arena as Michael Cole welcomes us to the show alongside JBL. Tonight, Edge will host The Cutting Edge with special guests WWE Champion Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan.

The Big Show's music hits, and he makes his way to the ring to a nice reception. Cole announces that Triple H told him in an interview earlier in the day that Big Show will be punished for his actions on Monday Night RAW tonight.

Big Show grabs a microphone, and he's holding a piece of paper in his hand. Big Show reads, "I come out here tonight to humbly apologize for my abhorrent behavior on Monday Night RAW. I apologize to Triple H for not doing the simple job I was asked to do on Monday night. I apologize to the other superstars for setting a poor example as a locker room leader. Most of all, I apologize to the entire WWE Universe for just simply letting you down." Big Show looks angry at the end of the prewritten apology.

Triple H's music hits, and Big Show looks even more infuriated. Triple H welcomes the crowd to Friday Night Smackdown. Triple H thanks Big Show for his apology. He doesn't think it was very sincere, but it was an apology nonetheless. Triple H wants him to understand that he's not trying to pick on him. He wants Big Show to be a businessman. Big Show is a leader of the roster. Like Booker T said, he just needs Big Show to be professional. Triple H says in any business if the COO of the company asks you to do something and you refuse, it is grounds for dismissal. Triple H begins to say that he has no choice, but Big Show tells him not to do this. Triple H says he's not going to fire him, but he is going to suspend him for the night without pay. That may not seem like a big deal to most, but for Big Show a night without pay really stings because he's broke. Triple H tells him to get going.

Big Show goes to leave the ring, but The Shield's music hits. They make their way to the ring through the crowd. Big Show waits in the ring for them. They surround Big Show and viciously start triple-teaming him. Big Show soon pushes them all off him and begins to fight back. Big Show gets the advantage for a bit, but they soon take him down again. Dean Ambrose then dropkicks Big Show out of the ring.

Big Show gets on the commentary table as The Shield stands in front of him. Seth Rollins clips him in the knee, and Roman Reigns cracks him in the back with a chair. Big Show soon punches the chair back into Reigns' face before knocking Rollins off the table. Big Show tosses Ambrose before leaping off the table for a spear on Reigns!

Big Show throws Reigns into the ring as the crowd chants his name. Big Show goes for a double chokeslam on Ambrose and Reigns, but he lets them go to swat Rollins out of the air. Big Show goes to give Rollins a Knockout Punch, but Reigns comes up from behind and viciously beats him down with the chair! Reigns screams at Big Show to stay down as he hits him with the chair one more time. Ambrose screams that they didn't want to do that. They then give Big Show the Triple Powerbomb. They stand over Big Show as their music plays.

Curtis Axel and Paul Heyman will have an interview with Michael Cole later tonight.

Vickie asks if they're ready, but The Miz interrupts her. The Miz comes out to a nice reception wearing a fake afro and doing some really bad dancing. Miz says you can't have a "Dancing With The WWE Superstars" without the most must-see WWE superstar of all-time. Tonight, he's not The Miz. He's "Mizco Inferno." Miz then takes a sparkling pink jacket from an audience member. Vickie is angry with him for interrupting, but she says he'll be in the competition.

Fandango says the three of them are a disgrace to the art of dance. He goes for a cheap shot, but Miz and R-Truth take care of him with a double back body drop. Miz then throws him out of the ring. Miz and R-Truth dance as the segment ends.

A video airs for the debut of Los Matadores. They are coming soon.

Ryback is the newest member of the Smackdown broadcast team. He's backstage for an interview. Ryback says he's multitalented. Many people don't know that he's a concert pianist nor do they know his linguistic skills. He happens to be a great interviewer. His guest comes up, and his name is Robert Evans. He's from Ottawa. Ryback says he looks like he's dressed to compete before asking his height and weight. He's 6'4 and 185 pounds. Ryback says he probably has a dream of being a superstar and in the main event. Evans says that is true. Ryback says one day Evans hopes to be in the ring with someone like himself. Ryback says he likes that people have dreams. He also has dreams, and he viciously slaps Evans down. Ryback says his dream is beating the holy hell out of people like Robert Evans. Ryback asks for a comment, and Evans lets out a sound of pain.

Vickie Guerrero is in her office, and Ricardo Rodriguez walks in. Vickie says in the interest of what is best for business, he will not be in Rob Van Dam's corner at Night of Champions. She fears for his safety. Rodriguez tries to plead his case in Spanish. They go back and forth. If Rodriguez wants to be at ringside at Night of Champions, then Rob Van Dam will be in his corner when he takes on Alberto Del Rio tonight. Rodriguez doesn't like that, but Vickie says she's done.

Michael Cole will interview Curtis Axel and Paul Heyman later tonight.

Damien Sandow makes his way to the ring with his WWE World Heavyweight Championship Money in the Bank contract. He'll be in action, next.

Michael Cole will interview Curtis Axel and Paul Heyman, next.

**Commercial**

Michael Cole is in the ring. He says CM Punk will be a handicap elimination match at Night of Champions against his guests, Curtis Axel and Paul Heyman. They come out to the ring to jeers from the crowd. Heyman doesn't look happy at all. Axel pats him on the back before they make their way to the ring. Heyman's eyes are bloodshot, and he's still unshaven.

Cole has a video air of the relationship between Paul Heyman and CM Punk. Cole says for 434 days, CM Punk held the WWE Championship, and Heyman was at his side every step of the way. As soon as Punk lost the title, their relationship fractured before blowing apart. Punk guaranteed that he would get his hands on Heyman this Sunday. Cole asks for their plan to not let that happen.

Curtis Axel asks what is wrong with Michael Cole. Can't he see that Heyman is stressed out? All this speculation is tantamount to hyperbole. It's ridiculous. Punk won't get to Heyman this Sunday because Punk can't beat Curtis Axel.

Heyman asks if Cole thinks that he doesn't understand what he's doing. Just because he has a "persecution complex" doesn't mean that he's not being persecuted. He's not a fighter or a man of war. He is an advocate of peace, which is why he comes with great humility. He hereby calls for a public boycott of this Sunday's WWE Night of Champions PPV. Heyman asks if they really need to spend their money to see the destruction of him? Isn't there a college fund for their kids? This is what they'll spend their cash on. If they buy WWE Night of Champions, you're going to see Punk get his hands on him. With all due respect to Curtis Axel, he taught Punk how to turn the system against itself. That means Punk will find a way to get past his client. It's not because he's better than Axel, but it's because Punk was his prodigal son. If you don't boycott WWE Night of Champions, Punk is going to hand him such a beating.

Punk doesn't want to wrestle him. Punk is going to slaughter him to the point where this is the last time you'll ever see him. The crowd cheers that. Heyman wants to state publically that if this is the last time you'll see him, he wants them to know that he'll always love CM Punk. However, he'll never forgive all the fans. Heyman then leaves with Axel as the crowd sings "Kiss Him Goodbye."

They replay the vicious beating The Shield gave to the Big Show earlier tonight.

The Cutting Edge w/ Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan

WWE Hall of Famer Edge makes his way to the ring to a tremendous reception from the Canadian faithful. Tony Chimel does an extra high pitches "Suuuperstar" for him. They then show footage of The Shield attacking Christian on RAW to hurt Edge.

Edge says Triple H has decided to allow him to come and host The Cutting Edge because it is what's good for business. The crowd chants "Good for business!" Edge says the thing is the only reason he's here is for each and every one of the fans. That doesn't mean that he'll forget what happened between him and Triple H on RAW. He won't forget how Triple H married into a cushy job and lost his genitals. He also won't forget what happened to his best friend Christian when his goon squad took him out. Edge says he knows Christian is watching. When he comes back, it's not for "one more match." He should come back and tear them apart.

Edge says The Cutting Edge is where they cut through the crap. It's time to bring out his guests. They are the two men that will compete for the WWE Championship at Night of Champions. First out is the WWE Champion Randy Orton. Orton comes out clutching his WWE Championship to a chorus of boos. Edge then introduces Daniel Bryan, who comes out to his customary great reception full of "YES" chants.

Edge says there is an awkward amount of testosterone in here. Edge says he knows how these things turn out. Edge asks Orton how it feels to be a sellout. Orton asks if these are Edge's tough questions. These questions sound like a cheap shot from a guy who is jealous that he's been champion ten times whereas he's a washed up talk show host who can't wrestle anymore. Bryan tells Orton to show some respect. Edge says Orton forgets that he's an eleven-time champion, but this is about the fact that Bryan will beat Orton at the PPV. Edge tells Orton to continue.

Orton says he's not a sellout. He did what Bryan, Edge, and the crowd would have done. He took advantage of an opportunity that was presented to him. Triple H, Stephanie, and Mr. McMahon all looked to him to be the face of the WWE. After ten years of John Cena, they needed a change. Daniel Bryan isn't a part of that change. Bryan is a great wrestler, and he has a good following. Bryan is good for business, but he's best for business.

Edge says he knows what is best for business as well as the crowd. The crowd chants "YES!" Edge asks Bryan if he's what is best for business. Bryan says he knows everyone wants him to point his fingers in the air and say, "Yes," but he doesn't care about what is best for business. Orton says that he's so naïve. Bryan will never be champion. He'll always just be a footnote.

Bryan tells him to shut up. He's been listening for weeks as Orton, Triple H, Stephanie, and Vince McMahon come out and say that Orton is the face of the WWE and what's best for business as if all of this is about adding numbers to a giant corporation. The most important things in his life have nothing to do with what's best for business. It has nothing to do with putting money in their pockets. He's talking about love, satisfaction, passion, and dreams. That's not on anyone's balance sheets. He's never dreamed of being the face of a corporation. Ever since he was a kid, all he ever dreamed about was holding that championship. At Night of Champions, he'll achieve his dream when he beats Orton and wins the WWE Championship.

Orton says if Bryan wants the title so badly, he'll help him achieve the dream tonight. Orton pushes the title into Bryan and punches him down. Bryan all of a sudden locks Orton into the Yes! Lock. Orton tries to get out, but he can't. Orton begins to tap out as referees run into the ring to get Bryan off him. Orton rolls out of the ring as the referees hold Bryan back. Bryan then begins a massive "YES" chant!
